What is mold?
At FL Contractors we believe in transparency and educating our clients, so before talking about the processes of eliminating mold, let’s go through what it actually is. Mold is another word for fungi. Different kinds of mold thrive in different spots. For example, you’d find chaetomium in drywall damaged from water, while you’d find alternaria in your shower. Mold growth starts within 24-28 hours and can survive very harsh conditions and thrive both indoors and out in our humid south Florida weather.

Let’s Inspect
The following is our 3 step Mold Inspection process This is important and provided by FL Contractors typically at no charge. We understand the stress and inconvenience having a mold issue represents. Our goal is to identify, contain and remediate while limiting your inconvenience and maximizing your post loss rebuild.
Visual Inspection
During the investigation a FL Contractors licensed professional will do a complete visual inspection of all accessible areas of the home, locate potential water penetration and other problem conditions, and search for any visible evidence of mold growth throughout the property. Digital photographs may also be taken to document your particular conditions if an insurance claim will be filed.
Testing & Sampling
On some occasions evidence of a problem condition cannot be visually seen but must be detected instead by taking air samples for analysis. Typically, air samples are taken of the outdoor and indoor air. This helps determine if mold spore counts from the indoor air are higher in comparison to the outdoor. FL Contractors has seen it all in the mold field, and because many times you can’t see it, we take great measures in making certain we have your health and proper documentation to share with your insurance company.
Lab Analysis & Reporting
A written report of the inspector’s findings, including color digital photos, spore levels and types, and the inspector’s final conclusions and recommendations will be shared with you as one final comprehensive report. Occasionally, mold is found that constitutes a problem for you and your family’s health and these problems must be dealt with before they get worse, so certified lab testing is imperative.

Let’s
Contain
Let’s Contain
FL Contractors is truly a family business with family values. Doing the right job for our clients has been the foundation of our culture. The right job always includes limiting loss. To that extent, we will make certain that all of the areas that have mold are sealed off. This way, mold is contained to help prevent its spread into other areas of the property. There are various ways to contain mold. Some containment areas may have physical barriers with negative air chambers and negative air pressure. Heaters, fans and cooling systems everywhere in the house must be shut off. They will move spores around and make it more
likely for mold to continue to thrive in other places. We promise to limit the extent of inconvenience, but never sacrifice you and your family’s health and your property value.

Let’s Remediate
Let’s Remediate
Bye Bye Spores! FL contractors only uses the best equipment available to remediate. No Short Cuts or cutting corners for our clients. Many Mold Remediation jobs require High-efficiency air filters that are put into the home’s HVAC unit to clear the entire house of active spores. This will help prevent the spores from remaining and turning into fungi. Depending on contamination levels, experts may also use special HEPA- filtered vacuums to pick up any spores that could have settled onto a surface.
Anti-fungal and antimicrobial substances are used to clean the existing colonies of mold. This method of cleaning mold will help prevent more mold from forming. The method of clean-up depends on where the fungi is growing. Non-porous and hard locations such as a bathtub or sink can be cleaned well by wiping and then adding a safe, approved biocide. Mold can travel into porous locations such as wood floors and walls. There may be a larger problem within these places. Once every infected porous area is inspected, the ones with deeper mold growths will have to be removed and replaced.
Your house must be sanitized once the remediation is finished. Clothes, furniture, curtains and similar items will be cleaned. Fogging equipment is used to deodorize both your belongings and the air.

Direct Insurance Billing
We’ve seen too many cases where a homeowner believes the insurance company adjuster is acting on their behalf, which is not true. They want to reduce the insurance company’s liability. WE work FOR you to ethically maximize your claim. Many homeowners get intimidated by the insurance company and hire a Public Adjuster. Sure, they work on the homeowner’s behalf to negotiate the loss on the claim which may take years to resolve and also not recovering enough money to complete the repairs. While the Public Adjuster is knowledgeable in the claim process and know how to work with insurance companies, in the end the they are not construction professionals and are financially incentivized by the claim amount, not the finished job. Perhaps that’s why you hear stories about public adjusters taking their cut and the homeowner is left to figure out what to do next… We have legal counsel on retainer should your claim require escalation, but as General Contractors, our credibility and experience generally yield the desired result.
We are experts at working with all major insurance companies. Our team utilizes Xactimate to create a detailed estimate and bill your insurance company directly to ensure a proper remediation protocol is followed, and the entire scope of work is covered in the repairs necessary for the reconstruction of your home.

Ross Pravda
It has been a pleasure to know Tony Imparato, the director for FL Contractors. Although Tony has not personally done work for me, he has always been my go to guy for referrals and insurance claims. When looking for a restoration company to use, there are certain qualities that stand out, and the main one for me is direct contact with the director and having consistent updates on the project. Tony thrives in good communication, and successfully completing tasks. Overall, my experiences with Tony would rank 5 out of 5 stars.
Lise Caissy
I highly recommend FL Contractors. Tony Imparato and his team are working very hard to give their clients what they promised and satisfaction. They are professional, devoted and talented! I live in Canada. I own a townhouse in Palm Beach Gardens. I cannot be there watching. With FL contractors, no need to be in their way. I can trust them all the way! They did wonderful work in my home in 2019. They literally transformed the place (ceilings, flooring and painting). They are working now again in my property with all the Covid issues and safety mesures... Can’t wait to see the results ????
